Location at time of Flood: At home on Mallow St.
Memory: We lived on a hill so we didn’t know until morning what had happened. I was 10 yrs. Old. The phones didn’t work- I think the neighbors told my parents. We walked to the top of the hill that overlooked the meat packing plant. We saw nothing but mud. The odor was unbearable- that of death. We drove where we could later that morning. I didn’t want to see anymore, so I laid on the floor of our van.
