He married Mary Maurice July 13,1919 in Hubbard NE. He farmed in Gregory County near Bonesteel until 1937 when the family moved to Rapid City. In 1945 he was working for Black Hills Power and Light. He retired in 1961. His wife Mary, died in 1971. A daughter Doris was born Oct 20,1926 at Bonesteel SD, she never married. She attended school in 1945 and later she worked for the telephone company. A son Donald Hausmann was born June 8,1924 at Bonesteel SD. He was a truck driver for Standard Oil after starting as a service station attendant at the West Blvd Standard Station as a young man. They lived on West ST Louis Street for many years. They are survived by sons and brothers Jim Hausmann of Rapid City and Kenneth of Milwaukee WS. A daughter Lois Jackson of Rapid City also died in the flood. Thirteen grandchildren and two great great -grand children. He was predeceased by his wife in 1971. In 1062 the family returned to Hancock where Shiela was Valedictorian of the class of 1967. She attended Michigan Technical University for three years in medical technology. She as a member of Theta Chi Epsilon Sorority. She was married to 2nd Lt Kent Heaton September 6, 1960 at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Houghton. The couple lived in Houghton until Kent graduated from Michigan Technical University in April of 1971. Kent is a Lt in the United States Air Force and the couple lived in Georgia, and California before they moved to Rapid City in November of 1971 . They lived in Jackson Park in West Rapid at the time of the flood. Besides her husband she is survived by mother in Hancock MI, four sisters Ruth Kurti of Detroit, Joan Suddquist of Eau Clair WS, Janice Enzor of Walled Lake MI and Vivien Rice of Warren MI. Title A name given to the resource Harry Victor Henrichsen Description An account of the resource Harry V Henrichsen, 66. Born March 19, 1906 at Gann Valley SD to John Henrichsen and Alma Jorgenson. He attended school in Platte, SD. In the late 1920's he came to western SD living in the Fairview area for some years. He worked for Summit Construction and Black Hills Cadillac before becoming an self-employed truck driver in 1968. He married Vivian Johnson on July 19,1933 in Rapid City. Vivian was a granddaughter of "Hooky Jack" Leary, a well known early Rapid City citizen. Harry was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the South Dakota Truck Drivers Association, and an honorary member of Future Farmers of America. On the night of June 9th, Harry took refuge in a tree when the wall of water from Canyon Lake Dam came. His body was found not far from his home on New York Street. He is survived by his widow, sons Fay, Jimmy, John and Jerald all of Rapid City; one daughter, Beverly Jean Withington of Hilo, HI; Nine grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Unruh, of Chester, IA. He was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Henrichsen, and a brother, Jimmie Lee Henrichsen, who died at Pearl Harbor. Title A name given to the resource Walter Albert Juhnke Description An account of the resource Walter Albert Juhnke was born May 23, 1911 to Albert and Emma Kruger Juhnke at Wasta in Pennington County South Dakota. He married Betty Myrtle Simons in Pennington County in Oct of 1934, they were divorced, he married Eileen Whipple in 1948 in Pennington County. Walter enlisted in the Army in 1944 at Ft Snelling MN and was stationed in Puerto Rico. He married Ethel Divine in 1959 in Rapid City. When Walter came to Rapid City in 1945 he was employed by Warren Lamb Lumber. He had been employed by the Chicago Northwestern Railroad since 1955 as a fire builder. He was a foster father to Joyce Christianson and Arlin Mesteth who also died in the flood. Among his survivors is his wife, Ethel. He had brothers Edmond who died in 1918, Leslie, Charles, Chester who died in 1968, Richard & 1 sister-Hattie. His mother died in 1934 his father in 1951, they are buried at Fairburn SD.
