Description
Cheryl Roth Runestad was born April 8,1950 to Bertram Roth and Louise Kunkel. She graduated from Mitchell SD High School in 1968 and on August 1970 she married Mark Runestad in Mitchell. The moved to Rapid City in 1971 and Cheryl worked as a teachers aid in the school system, they lived on West Rapid Street.
On the night of her death she and Mark had finished grocery shopping at a store on Omaha Street when their car was struck with such force by the water and debris that the couple was knocked out of the car. Mark made it to safety, Cheryl's body was found on July 28th.
She is survived by her husband in Rapid City; her parents in Mitchell SD, a brother Richard Roth in Rhinelander WS and a sister Sandra Norland of Sioux Falls.
