Description

Leonard Magnotto was born September 16, 1909 in Mercer County PA to Pasco and Mary Magnotto. His father was an Italian grocer for many years in Farrell PA.

He operated the Magnotto's Golden Dawn Market in Farrell PA until coming to Rapid City for his health in 1959. He owned a Chicken Delight franchise but in recent years ran Lucia's Red Garter Tavern and Restaurant on East Blv. Café.

His wife Lucy Perry also died in the flood.

Leonard and his brother Herman were principals in a corporation that operated a summer resort in Keystone, which was also destroyed in the flood.

His body was found three miles from his home in the Starner Tract.

Leonard is survived by his widowed mother Mary and brothers William and Herman, all Farrell PA. Brothers Chester, and Anthony of Brookfield Township PA, and one sister Rita ( Mrs. Fred) Rogers of Farrell PA.

Celebration of Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 AM Friday in our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell PA. The Rev Gilbert Stark pastor of Shrine of the Nativity, Bethlehem SD will be celebrant.
