Description
Martin C Genzler was born June 17,1910 in Oklahoma at Garber, OK, to Wilhelm Gensler and Bertha Mashanek. Martin's parents both died in 1914 of Tuberculosis. Martin and his siblings that were underage were put in a Church Home.
Martin served in the US Army from August 19,1942 to November 26, 1942 and was a prisoner of war in the Pacific Theater. He had been in construction until disabled by illness.
He married Ruth Huel Ravera September 12, 1958, it is not known where. They lived in Gordon and Chadron, Nebraska and Hot Springs, SD before coming to Rapid City in 1970. He is survived by three brothers, George of Lebanon SD, Fred of Gettysburg SD and Alvin of Huron SD and a sister Emma Wynn. He was predeceased by a brother, Imo, who died in a fire in 1957, William, Arthur, Albert who died when run over by an automobile in 1919, Albert and Selma Genzler Dooley.
