Description
Ena Ellison was born August 24, 1881 at Stuart Nebraska to Samuel Ellison and Elizabeth (Hankins) Ellison. She came with them to Pennington County in 1890. She never married. She was a grade school teacher in Custer, Pennington in the 1920's, and Meade Counties. She worked for as a Bookkeeper for an Oil Company in 1930. She also worked for Homecraft Bakery in Rapid City from 1942 to 1954. She had been a resident of Clarkson Mountain View Guest Home for about two years when she died during a rescue operation when she ran back into the home and was killed when a flood weakened wall collapsed on her.
She is survived by one sister Hazel Brown of Rapid City. She was predeceased by a brother Cloyd and sisters Effie Viola, Ruth and Ethel. Graveside rites were Wednesday morning at Mountain View Cemetery, Behren's Mortuary was in charge.
